Volunteering at Melbourne Infant School

Volunteers are important to us, and very much appreciated and valued by all of the children and staff of our school.

Volunteers spend the majority of their time reading to / with children in school - however may be asked to help with preparation of resources (photocopying etc) as and when required.  A full volunteer role profile can be found here.

All volunteers must commit to fully adhering to our school policies around safeguarding, child protection and confidentiality of school matters.  We ask volunteers to commit to either one morning or one afternoon per week or per fortnight during term time (but of course recognise there may be occasions where this is not possible due to holidays or illness).

All volunteers who read to children in school will require an enhanced DBS check through Derbyshire County Council (arranged by the school) before volunteering can begin.  We will also seek references for all volunteers.

If you would like to be a volunteer at Melbourne Infant School, please complete this online form and we will be in touch.
