To celebrate the historic event of the Coronation of King Charles, we are planning some exciting activities in school.

Family Competition – Royal Coronation Scene in a Box – entries into school by Wednesday 10th May

Each family is invited to create and bring in a Royal Coronation Scene in a (shoe) Box!  Whether your entry shows a coronation celebration, a garden/street party, or a regal design/display… we are already “royally” excited to see all of the designs!  We ask that the overall design is no bigger than a shoe box, as space for display is limited.  Entries should be taken by the children into their own classroom no later than the morning of Wednesday 10th May.  The designs will be judged and a winner for each class will be announced during our Star Student assembly on Friday 12th May 2023.

“A Right Royal Coronation” workshop – Thursday 4th May

Led by the Big Bubble Theatre Company, we are excited to be holding fun and interactive workshops for our children on Thursday 4th May.  Children will be taken on a royal trip down memory lane to discover some of the famous kings and queens of England.  Workshops will be led in small year groups throughout the day.  Big Bubble Theatre Company also led our Pantomime at Christmas; so we know our children will have lots of fun (and giggles!) whilst learning.

Coronation Ceremony and Picnic Lunch – Friday 5th May

On Friday 5th May, we are very excited to be holding our own coronation ceremony; where we will be crowning our very own King Charles in a ceremony presided by a bishop!  The ceremony will be for children only; but we look forward to sharing some of the photos with you following the event! At lunchtime, providing the weather holds, we will be holding a picnic lunch for the children.

Children are welcome to attend school in party clothes on Friday 5th May.  Please ensure that children have sensible shoes and a coat for outdoor play, alongside their non-uniform.

Community Celebration – Saturday 6th May

The school site is being used for the community celebration on Saturday 6th May.
